Project Summary

There are still many children’s homes in Romania, most of them overcrowded and in bad condition: old, humid buildings with outdated sanitary facilities and broken heating systems. Another problem is, that there are not enough employees or trainings and even fewer teachers.

For these reasons, AMURT constructed its own children’s home for boys in 1993. During the past years, the boys have grown up in a good and safe environment. Today many of them attend vocational training courses in Bucharest, others even study at university.

To improve the children’s living conditions in other homes, AMURT also provides new clothes, toys and bed sheets; delivering new beds with mattresses; and renewing electrical installations, heating systems and sanitary equipment.

AMURT is looking for new possibilities to offer a home to other orphans in Domnesti. As soon as the opportunity comes we will select children, which need a dedicated care, from state children homes which AMURT already assists.
